Trinity River Indicator Fly Fishing
Dead-drift your way to chrome on California’s legendary Trinity River.
Service Description
Trinity River Indicator Fly Fishing Trips When steelhead are holding deep or tucked into complex currents, indicator nymphing is often the most effective way to connect. The Trinity River is tailor-made for this technique—its riffles, pockets, and deep seams offer perfect habitat for both wild and hatchery steelhead. Our guided indicator trips focus on precision drifts, fly selection, and the subtle takes that make this method so addictive. The Experience You’ll spend the day drifting through prime steelhead water from the bank or boat, targeting fish in runs where a swung fly might not reach. We’ll teach you how to achieve drag-free presentations, read subtle strikes, and fight steelhead effectively on a single-hand rod. This is an excellent trip for anglers of all skill levels, and a great complement to a Spey trip if you want to double your odds. What’s Included • Full-day guided trip with an experienced steelhead guide • Quality single-hand rods, reels, and lines (or bring your own) • Proven fly patterns for the day’s conditions • Instruction on indicator rigging, mending, and presentation • Shore lunch and hot beverages for a comfortable day on the river Season & Conditions Indicator trips are available October through February, with prime fishing often from mid-November into January.
